To Horton's Heroes
On June 23rd 2010 4 brave heroes Douglas Halliday age 20 from Rock Ferry, Alex Isaac age 20 from Eastham, Martyn (Bobby) Horton from Runcorn, Dave Ramsden from Leeds, tragically lost their lives whilst serving in Afghanistan
They were affectionally known as Horton's Heroes
They gave their today’s for your tomorrow’s
From that knock on the door, the phone call, the news passed on
Our world stopped, our hearts screamed, things will never be the same again
Talk about them, share your memories,
Laugh about the fun you had with them
Remember them for their spontaneity, their strength, their bravery and their wicked sense of humor.
They will live on through us all
My beloved cousin Dougie, you are the most beautiful boy I have ever seen with a smile that lit up the room, our hearts ache without you in our lives, we miss you with every single breath we take. We are so very proud of your military achievements, but most of all we are proud of you for being you! You have always been a hero in our hearts. I love you always and forever, Princess Helen xxx
Good luck with the walk Caz and Gemma, Martyn and the boys will be with you every step of the way, I hope the weather holds out for you, this means so much for you to honour them xxxxxxxxxxx
